Nuclear & Chemical Weapons Trade in the Russian Federation

Abstract: 5 pages in length. A discussion of how the new Democracy in Russia brings about a wealth of new issues to consider regarding nuclear arms arsenal maintenance, weapons proliferation, etc; START treaties, policies, and the sociopolitical / financial aspects of former Soviet arms reduction are examined. Financial needs in Russia are seen as barriers to trust and a warning is given that we need to still keep an eye out for failed compliance. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
