Abstract: This 12 page paper begins with a brief introduction to the United Nations, when, why and by whom it was created. The writer also provides a brief description of the League of Nations, and discusses the UN Trusteeship Council, the International Trusteeship System, and the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, identifying the Articles in the UN Charter that are applicable to decolonization.
